A visit with the Moores

While Matt was away, I decided to pack my kids up and drive the 4 hours to spend some of our lonely days with my baby sis, Shantel. Her little boy, Nathan, is such fun and both Brooklyn and Josh loved playing with him and his toys. Plus, as Shantel is preggo too, misery and late night hunger loves company. :P We had so much fun hanging out, going out to eat, playing on playgrounds, swimming and visitng the most awesome little park. In this little park, there was a carousel, which Josh LOVED, little boats to ride, which Josh thought he was going to love, a train for families to ride together, and on top of that, a couple of really great playgrounds. To say the least, we enjoyed this park. I guess Brooklyn said it best, "That was the best park ever!"
Josh and Nathan playing together.
Josh was really excited to ride a boat... until it started moving.
He cried and cried until finally we got him out. Brooklyn loved it all!

The train was better... Mommy got to ride with him.

Brooklyn enjoying the train ride. She really liked saying hi
to all the people NOT riding on the train.

We rode the carousel twice. It was really fun! Brooklyn really liked that it went really fast.
A little too fast, actually. I had a hard time standing there.
It was a great lesson on centrifugal force, though.

Finally... something he LOVED.  He didn't even want me putting
my hand on his back to hold him steady.

That smile says it all, doesn't it. :)

Aquarium fun

Brooklyn and Josh both LOVE fish and animals, so I am grateful to have at least an aquarium near-by for their entertainment. This year, we became members so we can visit the aquarium as many times as we want. This was our first visit of many to come. Unfortunately, it ended with a bang... literally. Josh slipped off a step and busted his mouth on the step spewing blood all over the place. We were rushed to a private room and they kept us there waiting to see if the bleeding would stop. It finally stopped enough for me to check him out. Busted lip and gums and a semi-loose tooth that is just fine according to his dentist (but with all that screaming and crying, I don't know how good a look they really got). Poor little man.

Visiting the Lemur's exhibit.

Playing on the mini-playground in one of the exhibits.

The BIG tank with all the BIG fish.

A diver was in the BIG tank when we were there. Josh and Brooklyn
got a big kick out of that. They even gave him high fives.

My little octopus.

She had no fear and touched all the touchable animals... unlike her mommy.

One of our favorite animals to visit in the aquarium.

Busted lip/mouth and still smilin'. That's my boy!  :)

When Daddy's away...

Unfortunately, Matt had to go out of town for 2 1/2 weeks for some training in Seattle, Wa. It was not the best time for him to be away, as I was at my peak with morning sickness (well evening sickness for me). So, to make up for my being "mean mom" in the evenings and Matt not being here, we decided we would just have loads of fun... at least in the mornings when I felt my best. :) It was a LOOOOONG two and a half weeks, though.

We played with bubbles.

We played in the water at the sprinkler pad.

Well, while most were playing in the water, Josh was
lying on the ground playing with his truck. :)

We had a few picnics.

We visited the Aquarium.

We also visited my little sis, Shantel, and her little family in NC.
Josh and cousin Nathan are pretty good friends, now.
