OUR FIRST HOME!!

We bought a house!!! Well, almost. We are scheduled to close on January 31st. We are so excited to finally move into a place we can literally call OUR OWN! It is in Goose Creek, which is about a 20-30 minute drive from Matt's work. It is a brand new house in a new neighborhood that is in its beginning phases. The neighborhood will have cool amenities like a clubhouse, pool, kiddie area, park, etc. It has 3 bedrooms and an extra "bonus room" upstairs totalling over 1700 sq ft. We got a great deal on it, as it was an inventory home.

We also have some new pics of our baby girl... 4D!

Baby Girl for Christmas!

We went to the doctor today and had THE ultrasound. IT'S A GIRL! Matt was so excited he actually said, "YES!" when they told us. Everything looks very normal, so far. She even gave us a thumbs up! However, Baby Girl was not fully cooperating, so we had to poke at her and shake her around to get her to turn the right way. After 30 mintues of trying to get all the necessary images of her heart, they gave up and decided to try again in 4 more weeks. Of the pictures they got, everything looks almost perfect. They did find a little growth in her brain, which they said was just a cyst and would most likely either fade or just not be a problem. While Matt is fearing the worst, Vanessa is not concerned at all. We got lots of pictures and are posting the best ones.

Thanksgiving in Alabama

We made the 7 1/2 hour drive (8 1/2 with Matt getting lost) from South Carolina to Huntsville, Alabama for Thanksgiving to visit Matt's parents and to eat their food (which was delicious, to say the least). We also convinced Dan, my brother, and his family to meet us there from Memphis, TN.

We ate, and ate, and ate, and ate, and then ate some more. Baby Mayberry has never been fed so well! We were reluctant to leave until we were reminded that we get to come home to house-hunting, now. If you haven't heard, we are in the process of buying a house in this area. With baby on the way, we defintely need some more room and, of course, a garage for Matt to hide out in.

New Beginnings...

Offspring is officially due on April 30, 2008! Vanessa is nearing the end of the first trimester and is very glad. She hopes that the nausea and indegestion will subside soon. She has not gained any weight, because of it. But there is plenty of time for that later on.

We did have one scare about 3 weeks ago when Vanessa experienced some spotting. However, after an exam and ultrasound, everything turned out to be okay. The worse part was that Matt was out of town and couldn't be there for our first ultrasound. The hospital provided one picture, so that Matt wouldn't feel completely left out.

We finally had the opportunity to watch our baby together on Tuesday via ultrasound. It was jumping and flipping already. We think that it knew we were watching and it was just showing off. We were given some more pictures, but all we can make out is that there is something there.

The sex of the baby will be determined some time in early December... just in time to start buying him or her Christmas presents. We are just excited to be able to call it something other than "it".
