New Toy

Brooklyn and I have made a couple of new friends in the neighborhood this past week on our daily walks. One of her new friends is less than one month older than her and they play together often, and getting to know this other baby and his momma has made me realize that Brooklyn does not have very many toys at all. So, I went out and bought her a new toy. She absolutely loves it, too! She played with it all night after Daddy put it together and it was the first thing she played with this morning. Who knew toys would be so much fun!?

More Bubble Bath Fun...

Brooklyn just loves bubble baths now, so she gets one every other night now. I have no idea how long that will last, though. Of course, I am having just as much fun with it as she is, as you can see...

Brooklyn is becoming more and more confident with her walking skills, although she still has to hold on to at least one of my fingers, and she especially loves to walk outside (except she prefers to crawl in the grass for some reason). She is just in love with the outdoors. She loves the grass, the flowers, leaves, cars, cats, dogs, bugs... well, just about anything that is outside. She now stands at the back door most of the day like this... just waiting to go outside.

First Bubble Bath!

Okay, so it's not her first bubble bath... it's her second one. She wasn't sure about the bubbles at first, both times. She had to investigate the bubbles in her hands for a while before she learned to just enjoy them.

Also, I re-upholstered the chair that Brooklyn sits in with pink butterflies and plastic - pink butterflies because we thought it was a fun idea to have a discernable Brooklyn's chair, and the plastic... well, that's pretty much self-explanatory. ;)

Swinging!

It was such a beautiful weekend outside this past weekend that we just had to get out and enjoy it. We went out to eat for lunch, and then stopped by a park for some swinging. You can't tell from her face in these pictures, but Brooklyn just LOVES swinging. At home she will crawl up to her babyswing (which is nothing compared to the real thing at a park) and demand to be put in it for some looooong swing time. Then, after almost an hour in the swing, she gets mad when I take her out.

Also, I had to throw this picture in of Brooklyn reading the paper.

I finally let her have it!

I finally let Brooklyn get into the pantry, after much begging and pleading on her part in the form of huffs and puffs and pouty lips every time I closed the pantry door before she could get inside. I caved when she looked up at me all sad in the face, as if she was asking me, "But, why not mommy?" I thought to myself, "I don't know why not."

So, I removed anything and everything that she should not eat or get into and let her have at it. This is what she did:

She took every trash bag and every sandwich bag out of their boxes. I didn't mind her making that kind of mess - easy to clean kind of mess. In fact I just sat back and watched her do it. Then she crawled inside the pantry and got stuck. She couldn't get her head back out from under the shelf. I think she finally had her fill of the pantry.
