Tension with neighbors

We had a long night last night as one of our neighbors that share a property line with us had a party until 4:00 a.m. It wouldn't have been so bad had they not partied in their backyard the WHOLE time. Literally, they were outside in their backyard at 3:00 a.m. taking pictures (with the flash) of each other, laughing, talking loudly, playing games, etc. It was just plain annoying! At about 3:30, I had enough and decided to call the police (I would have gone over there myself, but if they were drunk, I didn't want a confrontation). There was finally silence at 4:00 a.m. I can only assume was thanks to a police officer paying them a visit. I was finally able to go to sleep and get at least 4 hours of sleep. Matt had actully gone upstairs when he had enough and ended up sleeping upstairs the whole night. They woke up Brooklyn twice, but, luckily for my neighbors, she went right back to sleep both times.

My concern now is that there will be tension between us and our neighbors. So, how does one deal with that???? Any suggestions??

Glow-worm

Brooklyn has fallen in love with her "glow-worm"; which was really her very first toy she received as a gift from one of Matt's co-workers, but she had not really paid it any attention until very recent. Perhaps it is because it plays her favorite song, Twinkle Twinkle. Now, she always brightens up when she sees it and even reaches for it.

4 Months Old!!!

We can't believe it's been four months already! We are just amazed at how much Brooklyn has learned - grabbing her hands, grabbing things in front of her face, grabbing her feet, sticking her tongue out, grunting, laughing, rolling over, airplaneing and so much more! Isn't she awesome??!!!

Brooklyn had her 4 month doctor's visit today, too, and weighed in at 12 lbs 14 oz and measured 24 1/4 inches long. She remains in the 25th percentile. Again, isn't she awesome??!! She also had another round of shots (two in each leg, again). She was so brave; she only cried for two seconds... of course she spent 5 seconds not breathing and getting red in the face preparing to cry, and the two seconds of actual crying was at a pitch only dogs could hear. Still, isn't she awesome??!!!

We finally got Brooklyn laughing on video. It's not much, but at least she's laughing now.

When Alicia came to stay...

Alicia, Matt's sister, came to visit us (well, mainly Brooklyn) for a week. We had such a blast! We went shopping, swimming, out to eat, we went to Charleston's harbor, but we mostly just hung out around the house playing cards and sharing secrets (tee hee). Alicia also brought her youngest son, Ian, who entertained Brooklyn more than any of us could. And, since she was here during our Anniversary, Matt and I were even able to go out on a date while she babysat (our first date since Brooklyn was born). We went to watch a movie - The Dark Knight (which is really awesome!!). We felt really bad, though, as on her last day here, her husband, back home in Texas, had to go to the hospital. Our prayers and thoughts are with you guys now.

Alicia & Ian, thank you so much for coming to visit us and we hope to see you again soon (i.e. Thanksgiving in Alabama). We love you and miss you already!

Rolling over

We layed Brooklyn on the floor for her usual tummy-time, and all of the sudden, she rolled over. She did it twice before we busted out the camera. Apparently it wore her out and she could not perform in front of the camera. We let her rest some and then try again with enormous success!

Way to go Brooklyn!!

New Neighbor

This gator has moved into our neighborhood's pond. It is probably about 4 feet in length, so it couldn't eat me, but it could take down a small child or maybe eat some of our local pets (like those yappy dogs you hear at 6 am). I believe it is protected by law and cannot be removed unless it becomes an actual threat. It's okay because I think it is afraid of us more than we are of him, and he keeps to his pond pretty exclusively. And, he is pretty fun to visit.
